Sarlahi – Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has expressed his commitment to addressing the problems of the people in Madhes and ensuring the region’s development and prosperity. Speaking about his candidacy for the upcoming House of Representatives election from Sarlahi-4, Thapa pledged to always assist in resolving the existing issues in the Madhes region.
During his visit to meet voters on Magh 12, Thapa shared with journalists on Friday before returning to Kathmandu that he was leaving Sarlahi with the affection, support, and trust of the people. During his stay, he discussed various issues, including improving the living standards of the people in Madhes and strengthening the party organization, with local leaders and activists.
While addressing a campaign rally, Thapa emphasized his commitment to the development of both Madhes and the country as a whole. He mentioned that the support and affection he received from the citizens during his visit had become a source of inspiration for him.
“During my five-day stay here, as I visited the homes of the citizens, the support and affection I received became an additional source of energy for me. The inspiration I gained from here has motivated me to move forward with planned efforts for the development and prosperity of Madhes,” Thapa said. He also expressed that his visit to Sarlahi had been productive and he had received strong support from local party members and the public.
Thapa committed to taking the initiative to address issues related to farmers, including fertilizer and seed supply, pending payments to sugarcane farmers, the marketing of agricultural products, as well as challenges in education, healthcare, and drinking water. He assured that he would work towards finding solutions for these critical problems.
After his visit, Thapa, accompanied by party district leader Birendra Singh, returned to Kathmandu via Janakpur and the airport.
