Kathmandu, Nepal – Ravi Lamichhane, the President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has declared his readiness to make greater sacrifices and undergo rigorous efforts in the fight to change Nepal’s future. In a post on social media on Tuesday, Lamichhane stated that the “bell of revolution” has already rung against those who are erasing the bright future of the country’s youth and oppressing its destiny.
Lamichhane wrote:
“Where I am or what happens to me, no one has the right to stop the flow of history. I am fully prepared for more sacrifice and stricter penance for the revolution that will change the future of this country. I don’t care whether my name is written or erased in history. But the bell of revolution has already rung against those who erase the bright future of this country’s children and fire bullets towards their destiny. Now, the final curtain is yet to rise, and we will rise that curtain together.”
The RSP leader emphasized that while he and his party have been accused of being “populists” and lacking vision or principles, they are committed to challenging the prevailing corrupt system. He also expressed frustration with critics who are quick to label his party without reading or understanding their party’s manifesto and vision.
In his post, Lamichhane questioned, “How long will we bear the weight of those who analyze the RSP manifesto without even reading it? Some people criticize us as populists, visionless, and without principles, but they never need to cry out loud about it. How long will we carry the burden of their inaction?”
He continued, “You have shown your intentions and competence—stop pretending. Even if the country falls into despair, your outdated ideas are your own responsibility. No need to complicate politics with heavy words. We will safeguard the democracy we have earned with our achievements. If we cannot, the people will.”
Lamichhane went on to address the current state of the nation, likening it to a country ravaged by vultures. He spoke of Nepal being on the verge of a “final tsunami” and urged his supporters to bring about the change.
“Prepare for the final push. Show us how you will stop this tsunami. We accept election results, but we will not accept any conspiratorial efforts to bring back the old parliament through pressure, manipulation, or threats. February 21 will not be an ordinary date, it will be a milestone in Nepal’s history. After February 21, the new parliament must have new opposition as well. We cannot harbor even a single snake.”
In addition to his political statements, Lamichhane also informed the public that his health is now stable and that he is returning to public life from today.
The strong words from the RSP leader reflect his unwavering resolve to challenge the existing political establishment and rally his supporters for significant change in the upcoming elections.
