Kathmandu: Newly elected members of the National Assembly have taken the oath of office in a formal ceremony held at Singha Durbar on Monday.
The oath was administered by National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Dahal at the hall of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee located inside Singha Durbar.
The election for 18 vacant seats in the National Assembly was held on Magh 11, following the completion of the term of existing members. The newly elected representatives took the oath as required before assuming their official duties in the upper house of the Federal Parliament.
The National Assembly is the upper chamber of Nepal’s Federal Parliament, and members are elected through an electoral college consisting of provincial assembly members and local level representatives.
