Rajbiraj – Saptari’s Rupani Rural Municipality has announced a new subsidy program for fish farmers, as part of a broader set of policies aimed at supporting agriculture, education, and public health.
The announcement was made during a municipal assembly held on Monday, where Chairperson Dinesh Yadav presented the new annual policies and programs.
As per the new plan, farmers will be categorized and issued identification cards. Each registered farmer will be provided with a smart meter, and the municipality will bear the cost of agricultural electricity bills. This initiative aims to reduce poverty and increase employment opportunities.
Chairperson Yadav also revealed plans to:
- Develop strategies for poverty reduction and employment generation.
- Prioritize hiring from the registered unemployed individuals through the employment service center for all projects run by federal, provincial, and local levels.
- Launch literacy programs in all wards by collecting data of individuals aged 15 to 60.
In education, the municipality aims to:
- Introduce English-medium instruction from grades 1 to 3.
- Make examination fees free for students from grades 1 to 10.
In health and sanitation, the policies include:
- Expanding services by constructing birthing centers in all health posts.
- Ensuring access to clean and safe drinking water in every ward.
- Offering affordable septic tank cleaning services.
- Introducing mobile public toilets.
- Honoring senior citizens and providing them with free health check-ups.
The comprehensive plan reflects Rupani’s commitment to inclusive development and enhancing the quality of life for its residents through targeted, practical reforms.
