Kathmandu – Iran has launched a missile attack on the U.S.-controlled Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, marking a sharp escalation in regional tensions. The strike was confirmed by CNN, citing two U.S. officials who stated that the attack had indeed taken place.
In response to the incident, Qatar has canceled flights over its airspace. According to Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the missile was intercepted and destroyed mid-air, preventing any casualties or significant damage.
U.S. officials had been on high alert, anticipating potential strikes on American military infrastructure following a series of attacks over the past weekend. The Al Udeid Air Base, the largest U.S. military installation in the Middle East, plays a crucial role in regional security and the strategic deployment of American forces.
This latest development underscores the growing volatility in the region and raises concerns over further escalation between Iran and U.S. interests in the Gulf.
