Kathmandu – Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba informed the House of Representatives on Monday that the delay in repatriating the body of Rabin Mahato Suri from Croatia is due to a shortage of funds.
Speaking during the parliamentary session, Minister Rana stated that efforts are underway to bring back the body and that necessary coordination has already been made.
“The Foreign Employment Board has agreed to provide the remaining funds. The embassy is proceeding with the required process to ensure the body is brought back to Nepal as soon as possible,” she said.
Suri, a Nepali migrant worker, had died in Croatia under undisclosed circumstances. The government has faced growing pressure from the public and parliamentarians to expedite the repatriation process.
