Rukum East: Pushpa Kamal Dahal, coordinator of the Communist Party of Nepal, has said that voters will defeat forces responsible for arson, corruption, misgovernance, and repression in the upcoming House of Representatives elections.
Addressing a public interaction program held in Chunbang, Rukum East, on Saturday afternoon, Dahal claimed that destructive and anti-democratic elements would be rejected by the people.
“Singha Durbar burned, the Parliament building burned. The Supreme Court burned. Private property and people’s homes were set on fire. Now those who incite violence and destruction will lose,” he said. “Those who brought republic and change will win.”
Referring to the recent election developments in Bangladesh, Dahal said Nepal should learn from the experience there. “In Bangladesh too, there were incidents of arson. It was said that those who set fires would win the election, but they lost. Those who did not resort to violence and wanted stability won,” he remarked.
He also commented on the influence of social media, stating that individuals claiming millions of followers were pushed to third place. “Even here, the people have already calculated the accounts of rumor-mongers,” he added.
Dahal said the people of Rolpa and Rukum clearly understand the consequences of violence, misgovernance, repression, and unrest. “You have understood it well. Soon, the people across the country will understand as well,” he said.
He further expressed commitment to establishing Rukum East as a new model of development. Citing the “Bharatpur Model,” he said a new model of development and socialism would be introduced in the district in the coming days.
