Tehran, June 11, 2025 – Iran has issued a stern warning that it will target U.S. military bases across the Middle East if a conflict were to erupt, amid growing tensions over nuclear negotiations and regional security dynamics.
Iran’s Defense Minister, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, stated that all American bases in the region are “within range” of Iran’s advanced missile systems. The warning comes as efforts to revive the 2015 nuclear deal remain stalled and diplomatic talks face uncertainty.
“If the United States or its allies take any aggressive steps, we will not hesitate to strike their bases and positions throughout the region,” Nasirzadeh said during a press briefing in Tehran. He also highlighted Iran’s recent military advancements, including the successful test of a missile capable of carrying a two-ton warhead.
The United States has responded cautiously to the threat, urging restraint but maintaining that it will defend its personnel and interests in the region if provoked.
In anticipation of rising tensions, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has issued a navigational warning to vessels operating in the Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Gulf of Oman, citing the potential for regional disruption.
The international community has called for calm, with the United Nations urging both sides to return to the negotiating table and avoid actions that could lead to open conflict.
As the situation unfolds, military and diplomatic observers are closely watching for signs of escalation, with the region on high alert.
