Kathmandu: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has firmly declared that Iran will “never compromise with Israel,” intensifying rhetoric as the conflict between the two nations escalates. His statement, posted on X (formerly Twitter), comes amid rising military and diplomatic tensions in the Middle East.
In a separate post, Khamenei wrote, “The war has begun,” signaling a hardening stance from Tehran following recent Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear-linked sites.
The statement appears to be a direct response to recent comments made by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who posted on Truth Social urging “unconditional surrender” from Iran and claiming that Iran’s supreme leader is “in hiding.” Trump also warned, “We know exactly where the so-called Supreme Leader is. He’s an easy target, but for now, he’s safe.”
Trump further added, “We are not going to kill them—at least not now. But we do not want to see missiles raining down on civilians or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin.”
On June 13, Israel launched targeted strikes on Iranian facilities believed to be connected to its nuclear program. Since then, the two nations have remained locked in an increasingly volatile conflict.
Khamenei’s strong remarks—especially the statement, “We must respond harshly to the terrorist Zionist regime. We will show no mercy to the Jews”—have drawn sharp global reactions, raising fears of an even more dangerous phase in the conflict.
The international community is closely monitoring the situation, as both sides appear unwilling to de-escalate, raising the risk of a broader regional war.
