Kathmandu, June 20 – According to health officials in Gaza, at least 23 Palestinians were killed last night near aid distribution centers following gunfire allegedly carried out by Israeli forces.
Local authorities in Gaza claim that Palestinians waiting for humanitarian aid are being killed on a near-daily basis due to Israeli military actions. They state that those killed were gathered to collect food and other relief materials when the incident occurred.
The Israeli military has not released an official statement regarding this latest event. In previous incidents, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had claimed that shots fired near aid areas were intended as warning fire.
Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that since the end of last month, more than 400 Palestinians have died while attempting to collect humanitarian aid, highlighting the dire situation on the ground as the conflict continues.
