Kathmandu – Superintendent of Police (SP) Dhakendra Khatiwada of Saptari District Police Office has been transferred following allegations of involvement in financial misconduct.
SP Khatiwada has been reassigned to the Bagmati Province Police Office, and SP Gautam KC has been appointed in his place on a temporary basis, according to the provincial police office.
The transfer comes after complaints were filed accusing Khatiwada of engaging in behavior inconsistent with police conduct while serving as the head of the Saptari police. In response, a three-member investigative committee was formed under the leadership of SSP Shantiraj Koirala from the Province Police Office in Birgunj.
The decision to transfer SP Khatiwada was made based on the findings submitted by the committee, a source at the Nepal Police Headquarters confirmed. Further investigation into the matter is expected.
