Kathmandu – The Israeli government has formally agreed to U.S. President Donald Trump’s ceasefire proposal, stating that its military objectives in Iran have been achieved. In an official statement, Israel warned that any violation of the ceasefire will be met with a strong and immediate response.
According to the statement, Israel claims to have eliminated the dual threat posed by Iran’s nuclear weapons program and ballistic missile capabilities. The government further said that significant damage was inflicted on Iran’s military command, dozens of Iranian government facilities were destroyed, and another senior nuclear scientist was assassinated.
The statement added:
“Israel thanks President Trump for his support and partnership in eliminating the Iranian nuclear threat.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a high-level security cabinet meeting on Monday night attended by the Defense Minister, the Chief of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and the director of Mossad. The meeting reviewed the progress of Operation Rising Lion, concluding that most of the mission’s strategic goals were achieved.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister’s Office wrote:
“Through Operation Rising Lion, Israel has achieved historic accomplishments and positioned itself among the world’s top powers. This is a major success for the people of Israel and our brave soldiers.”
While Israel claims a decisive strategic victory and steps into the ceasefire with confidence, regional tensions remain high. The international community continues to watch closely to see whether both sides will adhere to the fragile truce or if the conflict could reignite.
