Kathmandu, 6 Poush — The National Unity Party has strongly condemned the killing of Hindu youth Deepu Chandra Das by a jihadi terrorist group in Bangladesh, describing the incident as inhumane, brutal, and utterly condemnable. The party expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the murder.
In a statement issued on Monday, the National Unity Party accused the Bangladesh government of failing to ensure the safety and security of minority communities. The statement noted that the government’s inability to curb the ongoing violence, threats, and killings targeting Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh is serious and deeply concerning.
The party demanded the immediate arrest of all those involved in the incident and called for strict legal action against the perpetrators. It also urged the Bangladesh government to guarantee the protection of life, property, and religious freedom of minority communities residing in the country, and to take firm measures against terrorism and extremist forces.
Furthermore, the National Unity Party emphasized the urgent need for the restoration of democracy in Bangladesh through timely, free, fair, and credible elections. It stated that without a democratically elected government, the protection of human rights, minority security, and long-term stability would not be possible.
Concluding the statement, the party appealed to the international community, human rights organizations, and neighboring countries to take effective initiatives to promote peace, democracy, and the protection of minority rights in Bangladesh.
