Los Angeles, USA – Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama made history on Sunday at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, winning his first Grammy in the Best Audiobook category. His album, Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, was awarded the prestigious honor.
Upon receiving the award, the 14th Dalai Lama expressed his gratitude and humility. In a post shared on the official office of the Dalai Lama’s X (formerly Twitter) page, he wrote:
“I accept this honor with gratitude and humility.”
He continued, “I believe that peace, compassion, care for our environment, and understanding the unity of humanity are necessary for the collective well-being of the eight billion human beings on this planet.”
The Dalai Lama added, “I am grateful that this Grammy recognition can help spread these messages to even more people.”
His win marks a significant moment in the spiritual leader’s global outreach, as he continues to spread his messages of compassion, peace, and environmental stewardship through various platforms, including his teachings and recordings.
