At least six Israelis have been killed and 41 others injured following a massive missile assault launched by Iran, as tensions between the two countries continue to escalate.
Five people lost their lives in the northern city of Haifa on Sunday morning, while a 60-year-old woman was killed in Tel Aviv. Iran’s missile strikes have caused widespread destruction across central and northern Israel, damaging multiple buildings and critical infrastructure.
According to the Israeli military and the national emergency service Magen David Adom (MDA), nearly 100 missiles were fired in two large-scale barrages late Friday night. The attacks marked one of the most intense direct assaults by Iran on Israeli soil in recent years.
In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that it had targeted and struck an Iranian nuclear facility. The IDF also reported intercepting several incoming missiles but warned that further attacks from Iran were still possible.
Due to the continued threat, the IDF has urged all residents to strictly follow safety instructions issued by the Home Front Command. Security officials have placed emergency services on high alert, and shelters remain open across affected regions.
Iran has also claimed another round of attacks targeting Israeli military sites, further fueling concerns of a broader regional conflict. With both nations trading deadly firepower, calls for international mediation have intensified to prevent a wider war in the Middle East.
