Kathmandu: Iran’s state television issued a warning to viewers after an unauthorized video clip aired, calling on citizens to rise against the government. The broadcast interruption was attributed by the channel to enemy forces jamming satellite signals.
The clip, which has been widely shared across social media platforms, accuses the Iranian government of failing to meet the expectations of its people and urges citizens to take action for their future.
The source and exact nature of the hack remain unknown. Notably, the top-right corner of the video displayed a lion symbol alongside images of senior Iranian commanders killed during Israel’s June 13 “Operation Rising Lion” airstrikes.
The footage also included scenes from the 2022 protests in Iran, which erupted following the death of a woman in police custody. The hack represents a significant breach of Iranian state media and signals rising internal dissent amid escalating regional tensions.
