Kathmandu – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has remarked that some self-serving elements within the party are acting as though the general convention has already begun, despite it not being announced. He made these comments during a tree plantation program organized by the National Youth Association on the occasion of the 74th birth anniversary of leader Madan Kumar Bhandari at Kankali, Ward 13 of Chandragiri Municipality.
PM Oli emphasized that the party is currently focused on “Mission 2084”, aimed at securing a single-party majority. In this context, he criticized individuals prioritizing personal interests over party goals and warned that such behavior would be held accountable.
“We are moving ahead with unwavering focus towards Mission 2084. Our interest lies in the prosperity, development, and good governance of the country. At such a crucial time, it is unnecessary to act as if the general convention is underway. Our committed cadres are not swayed by such distractions—only a few selfish individuals are behaving as if it is. We must not follow them,” PM Oli said.
Highlighting recent educational achievements, the Prime Minister noted that due to the combined efforts of teachers, students, and stakeholders, this year’s Secondary Education Examination (SEE) results showed a 14% increase in pass rates compared to last year.
He also announced plans to launch free online classes across the country in key subjects to support students preparing for the upcoming SEE and for those taking the supplementary (make-up) exams.
PM Oli’s remarks appear to serve both as a rallying call for party unity and a warning to those he views as attempting to derail the party’s strategic direction.
