Agency Report – China has upgraded more than five kilometers of highways using smart technology as part of a national project. Officials from the Ministry of Transport said the initiative will cover over 60,000 kilometers of transportation routes, including approximately 54,000 kilometers of highways and 7,500 kilometers of waterways.
The upgraded roads incorporate AI-based technology, which is expected to improve traffic efficiency and management by nearly 20 percent.
This advanced enhancement prioritizes increasing connectivity across various transport corridors, aiming to modernize and digitalize China’s transportation infrastructure.
