Bhairahawa, Rupandehi – The National Unity Campaign recently organized a special program titled “National Campaign for a Federal Hindu Republic: An Introduction”, shedding light on the evolving discourse around national identity, cultural preservation, and the future governance model of Nepal.
Held in Bhairahawa, the event addressed sensitive contemporary issues and proposed a new vision for Nepal’s future, advocating for a federal structure grounded in Hindu values and identity.
Speaking as the chief guest, the Central President of the campaign emphasized that the demand for a Federal Hindu Republic has become increasingly relevant given Nepal’s current political, social, and cultural context. “Nepal is rooted in deep Hindu civilization, traditions, and values. Today, our cultural and religious identity is under growing threat. It is imperative that we protect the Hindu majority’s identity within a federal framework,” he said.
He further argued that a Federal Hindu Republic would strengthen Nepal’s pluralistic character, stating, “Nepal is home to diverse castes, languages, and religions living in harmony. But the backbone of our national unity remains Hindu civilization, which needs constitutional recognition and protection.” The president clarified that advocating for a Hindu-based governance model does not mean disrespecting other religions, but rather upholding religious freedom and national heritage.
The event was attended by various dignitaries including social activist Deepak Agrawal, Rajendra Gupta, and engineer Pramod Raut. All of them expressed support for the vision put forth by the campaign, calling for structured initiatives to formalize the framework of a Hindu Republic in Nepal. Agrawal highlighted the need to restructure the state based on Nepal’s indigenous civilization, while Gupta and Raut urged youth to take the lead in preserving Hindu values and ethos.
The National Unity Campaign concluded that a nationwide dialogue is essential to protect Hindu identity and the true soul of the nation within the federal structure. Plans were announced to continue organizing similar programs across various provinces in the coming days.
Toward the end of the program, all attendees took an oath to raise awareness in favor of a Hindu nation, reaffirming their commitment to national unity, cultural integrity, and religious heritage.
During the event, young leaders Dilip Kumar Yadav from Rupandehi and Aashuman Chauhan from Nawalparasi formally joined the campaign. They were welcomed with traditional khada by the campaign’s president, symbolizing their induction into the movement.
