Kathmandu: Following the recent US attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, Russia has officially ended its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The IAEA, a United Nations agency, is responsible for monitoring nuclear programs across the globe.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated, “This decision is a direct consequence of the unprovoked attack on Iran’s nuclear sites.”
Peskov added, “The current situation has severely damaged the credibility of the IAEA. This is a matter of serious concern.”
Russia, considered a close ally of Iran, has also strongly condemned the recent strikes on Iranian territory.
However, earlier this week, Peskov ruled out the possibility that the attack on Iran would affect US-Russia bilateral relations.
