Kathmandu — Prime Minister Sushila Karki has announced that the government is fully prepared to conduct the general elections on Falgun 21, stating that the aim is to hand over state power to the nation’s youth.
Addressing the 22nd National Jyapu Day celebration held at Basantapur on Thursday, Prime Minister Karki said the government is working with complete commitment to ensure that the elections are held successfully on the announced date. She called on all Nepalis to extend their support to make this national campaign a success.
“It is our responsibility to conduct the general elections on Falgun 21 and transfer state power to the youth, enabling the country to move forward on a path of rapid development. Therefore, the government is fully prepared to hold the elections on the declared date. I expect support from all Nepalis to make this campaign successful,” she stated.
Prime Minister Karki also emphasized the need to learn from incidents during the Gen-Z movement and remain committed to addressing the demands of the youth.
“The events surrounding the Gen-Z movement on Bhadra 23 and 24 have shown that the youth of this nation demand an end to corruption, the restoration of good governance, and employment opportunities for all citizens. To fulfill these aspirations, everyone must work with dedication from their respective positions,” she said.
She further remarked that Guthi institutions and local governments play a crucial role in preserving traditional festivals and promoting cultural heritage in Kathmandu.
