Janakpurdham – Kanchan Bichha, a proportional representation member of the Madhesh Province Assembly, has been relieved of her position after being expelled by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).
The RPP removed her from ordinary membership for six months, accusing her of acting against party policy and violating party discipline. Based on the party’s recommendation, the Central Executive Committee submitted a letter to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat requesting that her assembly membership be withdrawn.
In accordance with Section 34 of the Political Parties Act, 2016, and Rules 190 and 191 of the Provincial Assembly Regulations, 2018, the Provincial Assembly formally announced the cancellation of her membership.
The party initiated disciplinary action after Bichha joined the government led by outgoing Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav, who resigned on Wednesday.
