Nepali Congress Finalizes Candidates in All 165 Constituencies for House of Representatives Election

Nepali Congress Finalizes Candidates in All 165 Constituencies for House of Representatives Election

Kathmandu:
The Nepali Congress has announced that it has finalized candidates in all 165 constituencies across the country for the upcoming House of Representatives election. According to party spokesperson Devaraj Chalise, the party has fielded 106 new candidates in this election.

Spokesperson Chalise said that instructions have already been issued to individuals who filed rebel candidacies to withdraw their nominations, adding that most of them have already complied. “Wherever rebel candidacies were filed, the party issued formal directives, and in most places the nominations have been withdrawn,” he said.

He further stated that the party has given clear instructions to all organizational levels—from provincial, district, and local committees down to the ward level—to fully focus on the election. Emphasizing the party’s commitment to fully abide by the election code of conduct, Chalise said the Nepali Congress has also introduced a separate internal code of conduct to strengthen party discipline.

“To make the party internally stronger, an internal code of conduct has been implemented,” he said, adding that all leaders and cadres have been instructed to uphold the dignity and respect of the national flag.

Chalise also informed that the party plans to prioritize digital campaigning in its election strategy this time. He said the campaign will be advanced through social media and digital platforms to expand voter outreach.

He claimed that the recently concluded special general convention has infused new energy and motivation within the party ranks. “Even those who did not participate in the convention have started to re-engage in party activities,” he said, adding that leaders and cadres from other parties are also continuing to join the Nepali Congress.

According to Chalise, the Nepali Congress is heading into the election with a strategy focused on organizational unity, discipline, and the use of modern campaign methods.
