Mahendranagar – Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balen Shah, has concluded his election campaign for the upcoming federal parliamentary elections in the Far Western Province. Shah began his campaign from Lamki, Kailali, and covered both the Terai districts of Kailali and Kanchanpur as well as the seven hilly districts in the region.
In a unique approach, Balen conducted a silent campaign without addressing any public gatherings or events. Despite supporters and party activists gathering at party offices and candidate contact centers, he refrained from delivering any speeches, choosing instead to signal his presence by ringing bells at various locations.
The RSP, which has nominated Balen as a potential future Prime Minister, began its Far Western election campaign four days ago in Kailali Constituency No. 2, Lamki. The party has nominated youth leader KP Khanal, a close ally of Balen, as the candidate for the upcoming parliamentary election in this constituency.
Throughout the campaign, Balen held informal discussions with his party’s candidates, but chose not to engage in public speeches. Instead, he posted photos and updates on social media, written in the Dotyali language, during his travels.
After Lamki, Balen’s team moved to the city of Dhangadhi and then to Kanchanpur’s Constituency No. 1 in the towns of Punarbas, Shuklafanta, and Mahendranagar. At various locations, Balen greeted supporters and rung bells at party offices, sharing moments like tasting the famous Bajeko Kheer in Dadeldhura and taking photos with snow-capped mountains. These images quickly went viral on social media.
Balen’s campaign further took him across the hilly districts of Dadeldhura, Baitadi, Darchula, Bajhang, Bajura, Achham, and Doti, where he wrapped up his tour before heading to Karnali province. According to RSP leader Harish Bhatt, Balen’s team is now en route to Karnali.
“Balen has now reached Manma in Kalikot,” Bhatt shared. “Soon, the party will organize election rallies for the provincial elections, where our top leaders will address the public.”
During his Far Western tour, Balen engaged with local candidates to better understand regional issues, voter sentiment, and the state of the party in different areas. Bhatt mentioned that the campaign has generated great enthusiasm and that Balen’s silent, yet impactful, outreach has energized party supporters across the region.
RSP leaders highlighted that the fervor and excitement for Balen, especially in the Far West, has been palpable. Bhatt noted that while Balen refrained from public speeches to adhere to the election code of conduct, his presence and interactions have greatly boosted morale. The silent campaign strategy, combined with Balen’s widespread appeal, is expected to have a lasting impact on the party’s prospects in the upcoming elections.
The team is now headed toward Karnali, with plans for further campaigning as the election season intensifies.
