Kathmandu – U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran, stating that the country must address two key issues if it hopes to avoid military action. The remarks come at a time when the U.S. has been increasing its military presence in the Gulf region.
Trump stated, “First, don’t develop nuclear weapons. And second, stop killing protesters.” He accused Iran of having “killed thousands of people” in recent actions, referring to the ongoing suppression of protests within the country.
He further warned, “Right now, large and powerful American ships are heading towards Iran. It would be better if we don’t have to use them.”
The president’s comments come amidst growing pressure on Iran over its nuclear program, with the U.S. demanding that the country adhere to international agreements and cease its nuclear advancements.
In response to Trump’s warning, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, stated that the Iranian armed forces are “fully prepared” for any potential confrontation. He added, “In the event of any attack, Iran is ready to respond immediately and with full force. Our troops are standing by, with fingers on the trigger.”
The escalating tension between the two countries has raised concerns globally, with the international community closely monitoring developments in the Gulf region.
