Kathmandu: At least four people were killed and five others injured in four separate shooting incidents in Karachi, Pakistan, on Wednesday night.

Two men were shot dead in the Memon Goth area, while a woman was found injured nearby. Police said both male victims had gunshot wounds to the head. The injured woman was discovered in the bushes near a private residential area along the Super Highway. In her initial statement, she reported that two unidentified individuals had fired at her before fleeing the scene. Police recovered 9mm pistol cartridges and empty liquor bottles from the area. The motive behind the shootings remains unclear.

In a separate incident, a young man named Huzaifa was seriously injured by a gunshot to the abdomen while trying to thwart a robbery. Locals caught and beat the fleeing suspects before handing them over to the police. Another shooting in the Delhi Colony area left three people injured. Authorities are investigating all four incidents.

Earlier, on February 11, clashes in Swat’s Shana Karpa Haji Abad area, triggered by a dispute among children, resulted in one death and seven injuries. The identity of one of the recent victims has been reported as lawyer Attaullah Jan by ARY News. Injured individuals are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. CCTV footage related to the clashes has also been released by the police.

Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court has sought reports from the Punjab Home Secretary and CCPO regarding deaths and injuries during Basant festival celebrations. A petition filed by lawyer Azhar Siddique claimed that six people died and more than 100 were injured during the festival, a figure higher than the official government reports.
