Kathmandu — As the United States and Israel continue joint missile strikes on , U.S. President Donald Trump spoke by telephone with leaders of Israel, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt confirmed on social media platform X that President Trump discussed the missile operations as well as a recent shooting incident in Austin, Texas. The joint US-Israel operation, named “Operation Roaring Lion – Operation Epic Fury,” has reportedly targeted multiple sites in Iran, leading to explosions in Tehran and other major cities.
Both President Trump and Iranian state media have claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the attacks. Reports also allege that several family members, including his daughter, grandchildren, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law, were killed.
In response, Iran has reportedly targeted U.S. military installations in Bahrain, the UAE, and other Gulf countries. The UAE Ministry of Defence stated that since the Iranian attacks began on February 28, their air force and air defense systems have successfully neutralized a significant number of aerial threats.
According to the Ministry, 165 ballistic missiles, two cruise missiles, and 541 Iranian drones have been intercepted so far. This information was also shared by the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
President Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social that Khamenei’s death represents “justice for the Iranian people” and warned that precise strikes will continue until the objectives are fully achieved.
Meanwhile, a mass shooting at a popular bar in Austin, Texas, resulted in at least two deaths and 14 injuries, with the attacker reportedly killed by police, according to CBS News.
The escalating military tensions in the Middle East have raised serious concerns within the international community.
