Manila – Two people were killed after a helicopter crashed on Tuesday about two hours southeast of Manila, authorities confirmed.
The helicopter was carrying five passengers, including two Malaysian nationals, at the time of the accident.
Rizal Provincial Police official Ramje Panga confirmed that one Malaysian citizen and one Filipino national died in the crash.
John Masinsin, Mayor of Pililla, said three others were injured in the incident, adding that the pilot remains in critical condition.
According to police official Panga, the helicopter encountered engine trouble and was attempting an emergency landing when it went down.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said an investigation into the cause of the crash is currently underway.
