Janakpur: Madhesh Province Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh has pledged financial support for all provincial-level athletes from Madhesh Province.
Inaugurating the “Chief Minister Inter-Province National Kabaddi Tournament” on Thursday in Janakpur, Chief Minister Singh announced that athletes will be provided with financial assistance either monthly or in a lump sum once a year to encourage their active participation and performance in sports.
Recalling Madhesh Province’s achievements in various national-level sports competitions in the past, Chief Minister Singh said the provincial government remains committed to the development of sports in Madhesh.
He also informed that the government plans to organize more provincial-level sports events in the future, where athletes from other provinces will also be invited to participate.
Chief Minister Singh urged the youth to engage in sports and bring pride to themselves and their province through excellence and dedication.
The three-day-long Inter-Province Kabaddi Tournament, which commenced on Thursday, is being organized by the Ministry of Sports and Social Welfare of Madhesh Province. Kabaddi players from all seven provinces of Nepal are participating in the tournament.
