Kathmandu, June 13 — The Federal Democratic Front, a coalition of seven Madhesh-centric political parties, has called for a thorough investigation into alleged human trafficking activities being carried out under the guise of visit visa processing.
In a meeting held in Kathmandu on Friday, the Front expressed serious concern over the growing misuse of visit visas for trafficking purposes. The coalition emphasized the urgency of addressing the issue through an impartial probe.
Rajendra Mahato, Chairman of the Rashtriya Mukti Party and a leading figure in the Front, stated that the meeting unanimously agreed on demanding immediate action against those involved in the crime. “We urge the government to investigate the visit visa issue, take strict action against the culprits, and make the investigation report public,” Mahato said.
The Front also accused authorities of negligence and stressed that such activities tarnish the country’s image internationally, particularly in labor destination countries. The coalition urged concerned agencies to ensure the protection of Nepali citizens and prevent further exploitation under fraudulent travel schemes.
