Kathmandu – Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has announced that an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will be held in response to escalating tensions between Iran and Israel.
In a post shared on the social media platform X, Minister Dar stated, “At Iran’s request, an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council has been convened for this afternoon, New York time.”
According to Dar, the request for the meeting came from Iran and has received backing from Pakistan, China, and Russia.
This development follows Sunday morning’s U.S.-led airstrikes on Iran’s key nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The strikes have significantly heightened fears of a broader conflict between Iran and Israel.
The situation remains volatile, with global powers closely monitoring the region and calls for diplomatic engagement growing stronger by the hour.
