Kathmandu – At least four people were killed in overnight Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv, according to Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
Taking to social media, Klymenko reported that the strikes targeted residential areas, a hospital, and sports infrastructure. He stated, “A high-rise residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district has been completely destroyed, and several people are still trapped under the rubble.”
Kyiv regional head Mykola Kalyshnyk confirmed that one woman was killed in the attack and two others were injured.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (DSNS) reported that a total of 13 people, including two children and a pregnant woman, were injured in the attacks.
Russian military officials have not commented on the incident as of yet.
The attack marks another escalation in the ongoing war, with civilian infrastructure once again bearing the brunt of the conflict. Rescue operations are underway as authorities continue to search for survivors beneath the debris.
