Kathmandu — Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has announced that pregnant women who undergo eight antenatal check-ups as per the standard medical protocol will receive free health insurance coverage.
The Health Department of KMC issued a notice on Wednesday stating that the initiative will apply to all pregnant women who complete the required eight prenatal examinations.
According to the notice, the program is being implemented in line with the policy outlined in the Fiscal Year 2082/83 annual budget and programs, which provides free health insurance for women who follow the recommended eight-checkup protocol during pregnancy.
KMC has urged expectant mothers to visit their nearest health promotion center for the required check-ups and to enroll in the free health insurance program.
