Sudurpaschim: The Communist Party of Nepal (NCP) has finalized candidates for most constituencies in Sudurpaschim Province for the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21.
According to Provincial Secretary Janak Budha, candidates have been confirmed in all constituencies except Kailali constituencies No. 2 and 5. In Kailali, the party has decided to field Ram Lal Dagoura Tharu from constituency No. 1, Birman Chaudhary from No. 3, and Hari Chaudhary from No. 4.
Similarly, Bina Magar has been finalized as the candidate from Kanchanpur constituency No. 1, Lal Bahadur Khadka from No. 2, and Man Bahadur Sunar from No. 3. In Achham, Dr. Bhim Bahadur Rawal has been nominated from constituency No. 1, while Sharad Singh Bhandari will contest from constituency No. 2, Budha said.
Former provincial chief minister Trilochan Bhatt has been finalized as the candidate from Doti. Likewise, Prakash Bahadur Shah from Bajura, Man Singh Mal from Dadeldhura, Laxman Datt Joshi from Darchula, Parmanand Bhatt from Baitadi, and Min Bahadur Kunwar from Bajhang are almost certain to be the party’s candidates in their respective districts.
Budha said candidates for Kailali constituencies No. 2 and 5 will also be finalized soon. “There is a strong possibility that Nanda Bahadur Saud will receive the ticket in Kailali-2 and Prem Bahadur Ale in Kailali-5,” he said.
Meanwhile, other major parties including the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML, which have already forwarded recommendations from aspirants to their central leaderships, are yet to finalize their official candidates. According to the election schedule, candidate nominations must be filed on Magh 6.
