Kathmandu – Senior Vice President of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Rabindra Mishra, expressed renewed confidence in Nepal’s judicial system after being released on bail on Tuesday.
Speaking after the Kathmandu District Court granted his release on a bail of NPR 300,000, Mishra said, “The court has proven its ability to provide justice even when the state fails. This decision has restored my strong belief in the independence and integrity of Nepal’s judiciary.”
He criticized the charges filed against him, calling them “unfortunate,” but said he was satisfied that justice prevailed. “The accusations made by the state and the attempts to label us guilty were distressing, but I am happy that the court delivered justice,” he added.
Mishra was arrested following a pro-monarchy protest organized by royalists on March 28 (Chaitra 15) at Tinkune, Kathmandu, which turned violent. He had been charged with offenses including crimes against the state, criminal unrest, organized crime, and violations under the integrated penal code.
RPP General Secretary Dhawal Shamsher Rana, who was arrested alongside Mishra, had been released earlier on a similar bail amount.
