Janakpurdham – Police in Bardibas have arrested five individuals, including two women, on charges of engaging in prostitution.
The arrests were made on Monday during a raid conducted by the Area Police Office Bardibas at Sneha Hotel in Bardibas Municipality-3, Gauridanda. Authorities say they found the individuals involved in “unwanted activities” during the operation.
Those arrested include the hotel operator Ram Bahadur Tamang, 25-year-old Rakesh Baitha and 36-year-old Jaykaran Baitha, both from Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, India. Two women — a 30-year-old from Ramgopalpur-8 in Mahottari and another 30-year-old from Lahan, Siraha — were also taken into custody, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bikash Bam.
Police have increased surveillance of hotels in the area due to ongoing issues with drug trafficking, theft conspiracies, and sex-related crimes, with Sneha Hotel being on the radar for such activities for some time.
