Kathmandu – The United States has officially entered the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, launching successful airstrikes on three major Iranian nuclear facilities, including the highly fortified Fordow site. U.S. President Donald Trump announced the operation through his social media platform, Truth Social.
The strike comes less than two weeks after hostilities erupted between Israel and Iran. According to President Trump, the U.S. attacks were aimed at aiding Israel and targeting Iran’s strategic military infrastructure.
Iran, meanwhile, reported on Friday that it had killed three military commanders in Tehran, including officers allegedly linked with Hamas.
The U.S. airstrikes targeted nuclear facilities located approximately 96 kilometers from Iran’s capital, Tehran. The operation reportedly involved B-2 stealth bombers deployed from Guam, a key U.S. military base in the Pacific Ocean.
These B-2 aircraft, known for their precision and long-range capabilities, are said to have dropped specialized bombs on uranium enrichment centers before safely returning to their base in Guam.
The escalation significantly raises tensions in the region, with concerns growing over the potential for a wider conflict involving more global powers. International responses are expected in the coming days as diplomatic efforts struggle to contain the rapidly unfolding crisis.
